Operation limits
- Put the sample of your signature on the reverse of the card immediately after you receive it;
- Do not give your PIN code to a third party;
- Never write your PIN code down on your card and do not keep your PIN code together with your card;
- Never give your plastic card to a third party. If necessary, you can get an additional card to let your relatives and/or friends use the money in your account;
- If the card is lost, it must be blocked immediately. To do this, call MilliKart at +994 12 598 10 02 and give your last card’s number as well as the code word;
- Check cash flow on your card account at least once a week. Special attention should be paid to the account transactions following the trips on which you have been using your card;
- We recommend you should use the Internet Banking service for the constant control of transactions on your account and to get SMS updates regarding this. If you are abroad and not connected to the roaming facility, give the telephone numbers of your associates for the card account transaction control;
- If you have a magnetic strip card, apply to the Bank for its replacement with a smart card.
- Choose the daily plastic card operation limit in acordance with the recomendations of the Bank. If there is a need to change a limit or limits, contact the Bank at least 1 business day in advance of the desired limit change time.
ATM Safety Rules:
- Check the card insertion slot on the machine: there should not be additional devices or gadgets on it;
- Don’t let anyone else see the PIN code you are entering;
- Do not trust anyone at an ATM, even a man in a bank security uniform or a man in the ATM service company uniform;
- Do not use ATMs in desolate or suspicious places;
- Your card will be blocked if you have entered a wrong PIN code for three times in a row;
- Be quick at an ATM; do not leave the card in the reader after you have withdrawn the money because otherwise the machine will block it inside for security reasons.
The Safety Rules for Card Use at Shops and Restaurants:
- Never let your card out of sight when you make a payment with it. This is the access to your money. Insist on having the card put through the terminal in your presence;
- Always keep copies of the receipts when using POS-terminals; at least, make sure that the amount written off your card account is the same as printed in the receipt;
- If a wrong charge has been made to your card, insist on the cancelation right there at the POS-terminal;
- Do not use your card to pay for services and goods at suspicious merchants;
- Do not let your card run through dubious terminals and readers;
- Never sign more than three slips when paying by means of an imprinter (without a POS-terminal); your signature on the slip is your consent to having the specified amount written off your card account. Of the three slips you have signed, one will stay in the merchant, the other the merchant will send to the Bank and the third one is the one that you keep in confirmation of the completed transaction.
The Safety Rules for Online Purchases:
- Try not to leave personal data and card data on the websites you don’t know anything about;
- Do not use the cards on which you keep large amounts of money for online purchases. It is best to use Unibank’s Virtual Card: with it, you can supplement the tied-in card account as necessary.
Exercise utmost caution when using your VISA Chip cards in the countries outside CEMEA region ( central and estern Europe , Middle East and Africa), Visa Canada, Visa Europe and your Mastercard Chip cards in countries outside Europe, Canada ( maestro cards cards, after 31.12.2010) , Latin Amerika region (for all brands of cards :Mexico Aug 2011 for POS and Sep 2014 for ATM) , SAMEA ( South asia ( for ATM transactions includes only Pakistan), middle east, Africa) and AP ( asia passific : exept ATM transactions) , because EMV Liability Shift Rule applies only in the regions which were marked above. For more information you can get the list of the countries which are included in mentioned regions.
EMV Liability Shift – is the responsibility which regulates the financial liability of acquirer to the issuer (* in this case, Unibank CB acts as the issuer and the Bank owning the POS-terminal at which the plastic card transaction has been completed acts as the acquirer) in case the fraud transactions occur with smart cards in magnetic stripe terminals (POS or an ATM) with no chip fallback operations. It also includes the confirmation of the merchant transaction by means of a PIN code.
